Maratus banyowla, a new species of the personatus group from southwest Western Australia

On 2 November 2019 a new species of peacock spider, Maratus banyowla, was described from southwestern Western Australia in Peckhamia 195.1 by Jurgen Otto and David Hill. The spider was discovered by Kerry Stuart in Banyowla Regional Park and is named after that location. The new species is characterised by a blueish face, a conspicuous zigzag pattern on the “head” and yellow colouration of the legs.
